Made in-house
Built to the millimetre.
Every piece designed by our team and built in-house. Not subcontracted. Not catalogue-ordered. Built to the exact dimensions of your space, in the materials you choose, with the details that make it yours.
Karl Davis leads our joinery team. His approach is straightforward: if it is worth making, it is worth making properly. From fitted kitchens to statement built-in shelving, every piece goes through the same process.
What we make.
If it involves cabinet-making, we can design and build it. These are the most common projects, but we are comfortable with anything that requires precision and considered design.

How it works.
Design brief
We discuss the space, how it needs to function, and the materials and finishes you are drawn to. This happens as part of the broader design conversation.
Drawings and specification
Our team produces detailed shop drawings for every piece. You review and approve before anything is built.
Material selection
We source the materials and confirm lead times. Solid wood, painted MDF, lacquered finishes, veneer, or a combination.
Manufacture
Karl Davis leads our joinery team through production. Every joint, every door, every drawer built to the approved specification.
Installation
Our own installation team fits everything on site. We manage the programme and coordinate with other trades where needed.
Why it matters
Not subcontracted. Ever.
When joinery is subcontracted, you lose control of quality, lead times, and the detail. When it is built in-house, you get a team that is accountable for every joint. Our joinery team works directly with our designers, which means the design intent survives all the way to the finished piece.
“Built to the exact dimensions of your space, in the materials you choose, with the details that make it yours.”
Our latest project in Spofforth really highlighted what makes Dean Heim & Co different. Their design direction and craftsmanship were exceptional, but it was the inclusion of art and subtle, yet cost effective detailing that gave our development personality and flair. They understand the balance of great design and commercial viability which is rare to find in the development world. We look forward to working with them on many future developments.

Questions.
Anything else? Drop us a line and we will come back to you directly.
Is the joinery really made in-house?+
Yes. Karl Davis leads our joinery team and everything is designed, manufactured, and installed by our own people. We do not subcontract joinery work.
What materials do you work with?+
We work with solid hardwoods, painted MDF, lacquered finishes, veneers, and combinations of materials. We can advise on what will work best for your space and your budget.
Do you only do kitchens?+
No. We design and build all types of cabinet-making: wardrobes, bathroom vanities, home office furniture, media units, alcove shelving, boot rooms, and one-off statement pieces.
Read more about kitchen & bathroom designHow early in the project should I involve you?+
As early as possible. Joinery often affects room layout decisions, so involving us at the design stage produces better results than trying to fit made-to-order pieces into a space that has already been fixed.
Can you work with my existing architect or interior designer?+
Yes. We regularly work alongside architects and other designers to deliver the joinery element of a broader project. We are comfortable working from architect drawings or our own.
